A trip to Newspaper Rock, Utah offers an experience quite unlike any other. Newspaper Rock is a historic site in Utah, a massive rock that features the drawings, petroglyphs, and writings of Native American tribes from centuries past. In fact, archeologists have dated some of the writings as far back as 2,000 years old! And while we can surmise that much of the petroglyphs tell stories of hunting patterns, crop cycles, and prophecies, we actually have no way of knowing exactly what the writings say, as there is no written translation available for these particular petroglyphs. We can only wonder at what messages the indigenous peoples of centuries past were trying to leave for us. Inspired by the mystery and wonder conveyed in art thousands of years old, our artists at Anderson Design Group created vintage poster art of the petroglyphs, our own way of paying homage to the indigenous artists that walked this land long before we did. This retro poster is available as an art print, canvas banner, metal sign, notecard, postcard, or hand-stretched canvas.
